MOST BEAUTIFUL RESORT IN THIS HALF OF MITCHELL COUNTY
Historic Waconda or Great Spirit Springs, located on Highway #24, Mitchell County, Kansas. It is 54 feet in diameter and situated on top of a mound. First record of Springs was given by General Pike in 1814; it was an Indian Shrine, for centuries, famous for its health producing waters.

STONE POSTS OF KANSAS
A treeless area in Central and Western Kansas led early homesteaders to building stone post fences across their prairie acreages. The posts, approximately five and a half feet or longer and weighing several hundred pounds, still stand serving their purpose.
Their purpose now? Posing for photos to be turned into BAD POSTCARDS.

Here at the summit of Big Pocono, 2131 feet elevation, spectacular views of the surrounding countryside can be seen. In this view, to the Southeast, one can see the famous Delaware Water Gap and the Kittatinny & Blue Mountain Ranges in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Facilities for picnicking and refreshments are provided at the summit.
