The 62nd Annual Delmarva Chicken Festival BEGINS TODAY!
Pictured on this postcard is Miss Maria Pizzadili. Her prize winning recipe, “Chicken a la Romano,” made her Delaware’s National Junior Chicken Cooking Champion of the 1957 DELMARVA CHICKEN FESTIVAL.

A model-maker adds final touches to one of the large dioramas of early Brandywine industry located in the Hagley Museum, near Wilmington, Delaware. This exhibit shows E.I. du Pont’s black powder manufactory in 1806, four years after its establishment.
